A row of heat-active posts can be the heat source of a water-to-water heat pump. Above ground. No drilling, no digging.
The yield moves with air, wind and sun, unlike the steady temperature of the ground. The system is sized for that, and the sizing rules are part of the licence.
Where drilling is not possible or not allowed. Where an outdoor unit is unwanted because of noise or looks. And where a fence or screen is needed anyway.
